..”look at the undesirable behavior patterns, habits, or attachments you have and consider removing just one to help you change, enhance, or grow into a more conscious being.”
She makes her students give up something for 2 weeks – I’ve done this right..alcohol, meat, dairy, tried wheat. I think my next sacrifice will be caffeine…hmmmm when shall I begin? Tomorrow? This weekend? Maybe this weekend…I’m already stocked up on coffee at work for the week and this weekend will be prepping for yoga week…yes. This weekend…say Friday or Saturday. Mark your calendars. No caffeine here I come. “to grow and transform, we must strive to live consciously instead of unconsciously” she talks about when you give up some of your comforts a theme emerges around the realization that life is better without these habits and behaviors…so true..so true.
Meza also suggest making year of seasonal resolutions – biweekly or monthly instead of at the beginning of the year. I LOVE THIS! It’s similar to my bucket list…once a month experimenting on something new. 5k’s, yoga retreats, a new pose, new teachings…year of season resolutions I LOVE IT…winter has been not to hibernate like usual! Eat right, stay healthy.
We should Journal to track our emotional life in the midst of change. .. well ahead of you on this one Meza…blogging counts right?! More people need to blog…the more we write and empty our head, it leaves room in the heart to grow…it gets all the monkey chatter out of the brain to write, journal, blog. I love the way she puts it though…to track our emotional life in the midst of change…looking back over the 2 or so years I’ve been blogging I can definitely tell a difference in my emotional life – moving forward with the help of breath and yoga.
I was reading today, “Trust that you will grow no matter what the final outcome looks like”. I love it … the more and more I read her sequencing book the more and more I’m like yeah! Rock on! Well put! I need to blog about this!! Can’t wait to meet this fascinating woman!
well, I'm off to teach one of her winter vinyasa's...Namaste.
