Restorative Observation Class

This was an observation class from yesterday(31JAN12). The theme was Postural Patterns and being AWARE of your body. It was a Restorative Class for Traumatic Brain Injuries - lots of headaches, dizziness, and lots of balancing issues. It was amazing to watch and I'm excited to try this sequence myself.. lots of use of the blocks. Enjoy.
·       Comfortable seat/breath/intention
·       Observe your breath
·       Tadasana with block between shins – pick up toes, ground down, pull up little toe, arms up- reach up, lengthen core
·       Uttansasana with hands on shins/looking up
·       Tadasana arms up, Uttanasana heart stays soft
·       One hand tadasana, lift up thru ribcage – knees stay soft, breathe – notice your breath
·       Utkatasana – inhale up tadasana, Uttanasana
·       Relax  - shake it out
·       Utkatasana without block
·       Deep squat – like garland pose up on your toes
·       Roll back to Navasana or Ardha Navasana
·       Rock back – shins into chest – observe breath
·       More core work – pull belly in – bike kicks with breath
·       Roll back up into table top – cat/cow
·       Aligning – work right leg – pull Left leg up right arm out – repeat other side
·       Balasana – blanket, bolster under head/breathe making exhale longer
·       Bring right foot forward – stay here / war 1 lunge – repeat left side
·       Tadasana – shift weight to Right side – take left foot out to the side, then Vrksasana , war 3, Utkatasana – repeat other side
·       Plank – side plank – on hand or forearm – tree plank – helps build strength in ankles
·       Savasana
